I am not a real gadget person. I like my whisks, my mixers, etc, but other machinery? Eh. But to me an ice cream maker is a must. I love ice cream, sorbets, what have you. And I like when I can make them at home and control what goes into them. So for this sorbet, I will give you the regular version, and the “cleaner living” version. Go forth, switch up the fruits, add more, or less. But grab an ice cream maker and make some memories. Ice cream memories. Recipe can also be seen on Foodgawker.com
3 ripe mangoes cut into small chunks
2/3 cup sugar (cleaner version use organic sugar)
1/2 cup corn syrup (cleaner version 1 more cup of sugar and 1/4 cup water)
juice of one small lemon
Mix all ingredients with a hand held blender or in the food processor until foamy and somewhat smooth. Add to ice cream maker and mix for 30 minutes or until thick. Puree can be made a day ahead, and sorbet will keep in the freezer for up to three months.
