When I cook or bake, I like to make sure I am using the best tools (besides my hands) that I can. When talking with the lovely people at Polder’s Old World Market about working with them, I took some time to look around their site, and see what products they had for purchase. And let me just say I was excited with what I found! Their products are beautiful, their message and company policy are that of an older time, when commitment to the customer and excellent customer service meant something. And to me that matters, especially with how much baking and cooking I do. I want products I can work with that will stand the test of time. I was given the opportunity to try out a few great items*, but I have to say, the chef spurtle is hands down my favorite, and here are a few reasons why:
1. The color and quality-it’s a beautiful dark walnut, which to me is rustic and visually pleasing, and was very easy to photograph.
2. It has many uses. I stirred jam with it, I cut out pieces of cherry pie with it, I scrapped out the pie bits that were left behind in the pie tin.
3. It’s sturdy-it can hold onto an overflowing piece of pie, a slice of pizza, a chewy brownie, and even flip a piece of sizzling steak in the fry pan. Best part about this?
