Congrats to Danielle Herzog, winner of two tickets!
Robert Irvine fan? Me too! I was recently able to go to the Restaurant Impossible taping here in Omaha (third day of my new job, come on) and had a chance to meet the celebrity chef in person. What I learned about RI is he is truly passionate about helping restaurants get back to a successful place, not only financially, but emotionally to help mend broken family/employee relationships. Trusting the people who work with you and for you is most important, and he does a great (if not gruff) job of helping them get back to a more peaceful place. Win/win for all of us, seeing that transformation over a less than two day period.
Exciting news: Robert Irvine will be back in town March 6th to do a live, interactive show! It is described as a “high energy, multimedia and multi-sensory theatrical experience” Sounds great right? Well guess what, I am giving away two tickets to the show! Two ways to enter:
1. Tweet and tag @bakesinslippers @robertirvine and @operformingarts telling us “I want to see Robert Irvine live!”
2. Tweet your favorite Robert Irvine recipe tagging @bakesinslippers and #irvineinomaha for a chance to win!
Contest starts February 20th, 2015 and ends March 1st, 2015 at 7pm CT. Omaha and surrounding cities make sure to enter for a chance to see Robert Irvine live (and meet me if you want, I mean who wouldn’t).
Recipe review: I decided to make Chef Irvine’s Potato Leek Soup recipe, seeing as many of us are weathering the cold temps right now. The recipe is so easy to follow, and the ingredients are minimal, so you have a delicious soup without taking out a loan to make it. The meatiness of the leeks gives this soup a hearty taste and flavor, and the cream makes it a joy to eat. Add a salad or sandwich and you have yourself a tasty winter meal! I think it would be great in a slow cooker, set on low all day and ready for you to immersion blend at the end of a hard day.
In case you aren’t a lucky winner of the tickets, details to purchase show tickets are below. Good luck!
