Janelle went to culinary school and graduated with her baking and pastry certificate, quickly realizing that everyday baking wasn’t for me. I soon became interested in recipe development, food photography, and food writing, and decided to start bakesinslippers. My approach to food is simple, not overly complicated, but always completely delicious. You don’t have to churn your own butter or grind your own spices to get amazing results (but hey that is always a good workout)
Working a full time office job doesn’t allow me to write/bake/blog as much as I want to, along with being a mom to a soon to be college student. But my recipes are things that make me happy, that I think will make others happy, and what is seasonal (usually). I photograph each and every recipe, be it one I tried, or one of my own-as a visual person myself, I always think it’s nice to see the end result of a recipe, good or bad.
My blog will have rants and raves, recipes, and photos. It will answer questions on techniques, products, and food that I try. It will have stories about my life, life of my friends, random sightings and thoughts. I hope you will enjoy the random ride!
Send me an email, shoot me a facebook message, tweet me, or follow me on Instagram. I am easy to find and always happy to hear comments, suggestions, questions or just hello.
