Slow Cooker Peach Butter

July 29, 2014 By bakesinslippers 25 Comments

peach butter on knife peach in front Much like apple butter, but with peaches….

6-8 peaches peeled and sliced thick

1/2 cup sugar

1 T cinnamon

1 T nutmeg

1/2 T ground cloves

3 T lemon juice

Place all ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours

Using hand blender, blend peaches and juices together until thick but spreadable.  Using on croissants, bagels, toast, buttery crackers, or in between a cake layer for that added yum factor.

Can be kept in mason jars in the freezer for up to six months.  Keep in fridge if using within a week or two.

This is making me realize I’m much too limited with my use of my slow cooker. What a genius idea!

Why is it called butter? Sounds like jam. Do you have to use it all up within 2 weeks in the frig?
        Thanks.
How much does this recipe make?

It slathers on like a butter, so that is the title I went with :)
If you think you won’t use it in two weeks, I would put it in the freezer.
I can usually get 2-3 mason jars filled with delicious peach butter!
